<h2><b><u>Category: under garments</U></B></H2> Under garments, together with underwear, were the base of clothes. They were worn universally, the only difference was the quality of cut and cloth, which depended on the status of the wearer. They were rather comfortable and practical, because they served mainly as a house wear and work wear. Medieval men's under garments consist of a separate hose (or a joined hose in the later period), a doublet and in case of women a simple cote.

This is the first type of a doublet. The basquine is longer then in the later type of doublet and reaches the buttocks. There is also a possibility to order a doublet which is fastened with buttons. The doublet can be made only from linen or from wool with linen lining.

It is a later type of doublet. The basquine is short and reaches only about hips. In our standard, the doublet is laced with five seperate laces. It is made from wool with linen lining. Can have puffed sleves for a surcharge (+25 EUR)*.
